Frontedo connector: what is new since v2

Access levels and renamable keys, translations, page rewrites, image uploads with alt text, and a new panel check that stops two contents from sharing one address.

Frontedo panel: the Access keys list, with three keys for the AC Agency site, each with read and write access, an expiry date and the date it was last used. Some key names and the people who issued them are blurred.

On 10 October we published version 2 of the Frontedo MCP connector: an AI assistant can read your site and prepare drafts. This is what the connector can do today, and what changed in the panel.

Access keys

Each key works on one website only, with one of two access levels: read only, or read and write. You issue a key from the Frontedo panel after confirming with your verification code, and the panel shows it only once. Keys expire on their own, and the Access keys page shows when. You can revoke a key at any time, and now you can also rename it, so keys are easy to tell apart.

What the assistant can do

  • Translate a page or post into another language, as a draft.
  • Rewrite the text of existing pages block by block, and remove or reorder blocks. These changes are drafts too.
  • Upload images, also from a phone through a one-time upload link, and write their alt text in every language.
  • Create and rename tags.

Limits

  • Pages and posts stay drafts. The assistant never publishes them: a person does, from the panel.
  • ALT texts and tags are the exception. They go live with no draft step: tags at once, ALT texts within about an hour.
  • Nothing can be deleted. The connector has no way to remove content.
  • No overwriting. If someone changed the content after the assistant read it, the assistant's change is refused.

A new check in the panel

Two contents can no longer end up at the same address. If a change would cause a clash, the panel stops it and names the content that already uses that address. When an address changes, the panel still creates a redirect automatically, so old links keep working.

Coming next

Two features are in testing and not available yet:

  • Publishing from the assistant, with a plan to confirm before anything goes live and a way to undo it.
  • Managing categories from the assistant.

If you use Frontedo and want to try the connector, get in touch.
